The Perfect Match: Ava & Walter
Ava is now the service dog for Walter, a little boy with Angelman syndrome, epilepsy, and autism. According to Walter’s mom, Mikayla:
“Walter’s epilepsy makes us frequent flyers of the ER and Children’s Hospital and the reason we were looking for Ava. His autism can make him overwhelmed and upset, and Ava does a good job at calming him down. His Angelman syndrome causes him to be nonverbal and unable to walk, making him defenseless. Having Ava gives him a best friend to have his back.”
