The results are in! At Valor Protection Dogs, we believe in total transparency and setting the bar high for breeding and training. Freya’s health testing results reflect our commitment to producing genetically sound, structurally correct, and temperamentally stable German Shepherds.

Freya, a stunning female imported from the Czech Republic, has undergone comprehensive testing to ensure she meets—and exceeds—the health standards required of elite protection dogs.

1. Embark DNA Panel: Freya’s Full Genetic Profile

As part of Freya’s health testing results, we ran a full Embark DNA panel. She is:

  • 100% German Shepherd

  • Clear of all breed-relevant genetic conditions (11/11)

  • Free of 197 additional non-breed-specific conditions

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM): N/N (Clear)

These results confirm that Freya is not a carrier for any known genetic disorders. This ensures a future of no risk of inherited disease—key in maintaining long-term health in working-line German Shepherds.

2. PennHIP Scores: Top 10% of the Breed

Freya’s PennHIP results show a Distraction Index (DI) of 0.30, placing her in the top 10% of German Shepherds nationwide. Her x-rays show no evidence of osteoarthritis, a testament to her structural integrity.

PennHIP testing provides a more accurate prediction of future hip health than traditional OFA hip scoring, which is why we use it as part of Freya’s health testing results.

3. OFA Elbow Certification: Normal

Freya’s elbows are rated “Normal” by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), with zero signs of elbow dysplasia. This is another key piece of Freya’s health testing results and crucial to her long-term working ability and breeding suitability.

Why Freya’s Health Testing Results Matter

Freya’s health testing results aren’t just paperwork—they’re proof. Every test we conduct reflects our promise to future clients and buyers:

✅ Health-tested dogs live longer, healthier lives

✅  Predictability in structure and temperament

✅  Ethical, informed breeding based on science—not guesswork

If you’re considering a high-end protection dog, full transparency like this should be non-negotiable.
