Our standards are the highest in the industry. We take our job of raising, training and providing top-level Personal Protection and Family Protection Dogs very seriously. We know that dogs of this caliber are hard to come by, and we invest heavily into them early on to ensure they will meet our criteria to pass our stringent requirements.
Our dogs are the Total Package. They have: 1) Superior Temperaments, 2) Excellent Protection Abilities, 3) Good Health, 4) High Levels of Obedience and 5) Unmatched Versatility.
1. Superior Temperaments
For us, temperament is first and foremost. It is a requirement and a deal breaker. Absolutely NO dog should ever be sold as a Personal Protection or Family Protection Dog if that dog is nervous, fearful or aggressive. The dog must be safe, reliable, confident and level-headed. (We wish others in the industry held dogs to this same standard.) Additionally, we seek temperament traits that make the dog enjoyable to be around, such as happy and eager to please. We know what we like in dogs, and we look for dogs with those traits.
Unfortunately, not everyone in this industry has the same requirements. They sell dogs that are “not good with kids” or “good with female dogs only” etc., and we have zero tolerance for dogs like that. The dog has an excellent temperament and is undeniably social and safe, or he washes out of our program. Period.
2. Excellent Protection Abilities
Good protection training involves more than just putting on a sleeve and giving the dog a bite. Good protection training starts with proper bite development and ends with scenario training so the dog has seen it all and done it all before he or she goes to its forever family.
What many people don’t realize is that a dog’s natural protective abilities are instinctual first and foremost. That’s why we pick dogs with unmatched genetic abilities. We want dogs who have what it takes before they even start training with us. The training they see and receive is just the cherry on top, and it makes for the Ultimate Protection Dog.
Our scenario training prepares dogs to be ready for every situation: home invasion, carjacking, child abduction and robbery. We know that our clients need reliable 24/7 guard dogs, so we prepare our protection dogs for anything and everything. If a criminal breaks into the home or tries to snatch a child, our dogs are ready. And they will stop at nothing to defend their homes and loved ones.
3. Good Health
A protection dog is of no use if he’s suffering from poor health. That’s why we go the extra mile to health test all of our dogs. We test each dog for over 200 genetic diseases like glaucoma, MDRI1 drug sensitivity, degenerative myelopathy and common adult-onset diseases. We also X-ray our dogs’ hips and elbows to ensure they are not only genetically sound but orthopedically as well. In our minds, this should be an industry standard to ensure a top-level protection dog is in good health prior to going to his or her forever home.
But we go a step further. Throughout our dogs’ lives, they receive only the best in terms of diet and nutrition. We believe health starts at a molecular level. So we feed our dogs only the best, and we require that our buyers do the same to ensure their dog has a long and healthy working life with many happy years ahead.
Unfortunately, many in this industry do not follow this same protocol and often sell dogs with undisclosed health issues or failed health tests.
4. High Levels of Obedience
Each of our protection dogs is raised by a professional trainer. We do this because we believe that high caliber dogs must be professionally raised and trained. And during their upbringing, our dogs are trained to the highest level.
Our dogs come with on and off leash obedience, gunfire neutrality training, scenario training and public manners training. Their obedience matches that of a seasoned service dog. So rest assured- your dog is not only a wonderful protection asset but also an enjoyable and obedient companion.
