We’ve had many inquiries about VPD-K9 Bear, our DDR German Shepherd stud, so we’re sharing this post to provide all the information breeders need upfront. This includes his pedigree, health, temperament, and requirements for females.

Overview

Bear is a large, all-black, stock coat male with a 100% DDR (East German/Stasi) pedigree. He was bred for size, courage, intelligence, and stability, making him a clear-headed, balanced working-line male.

• All-black, stock coat (carries long coat)

• Medium drive, high food drive, high biddability

• Clear-headed, stable temperament

Breeding Philosophy & Requirements

Bear will be bred very selectively. Minimum requirements for females:

• Pedigree: DDR, Czech, or West German working lines only (no American lines)

• Health Testing: PennHIP & OFA, OFA, or SV certification

• DNA Testing: Embark or comparable

• DM Status: Clear or carrier acceptable

• Photos: Head and stacked

• Temperament: Stable, clear-headed; no fear, uncontrolled aggression, shyness, or reactivity

• Deposit required

Females must be brought to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; we do not travel for breedings.
