Summary: Rip has excellent hips! He received a PennHIP rating of 0.28 (0.22 and 0.28) with no radiographic evidence of osteoarthritis in either hip. His score of 0.28 which means his hips are better than 90 percent of German Shepherds in the PennHIP program. In fact, his hips are so tight, our veterinarian had a hard time distracting them for the x-rays. They were some of the tightest hips he’s seen in awhile and expected he would receive a 0.10 rating or better, so we were surprised to see he received a 0.28 overall rating, but 0.28 is still a great rating! Rip’s official PennHIP report below:
Summary: Rip has healthy, normal elbows with no sign of dysplasia and no negative radiographic findings. Rip’s Official Preliminary OFA results below:
Update: We also did final OFAs on Rip, and we’re proud to say that he went OFA HIPS GOOD and OFA ELBOWS NORMAL. We have collected on him for use in our future breeding program. He exemplifies everything that a German Shepherd should be.
